One-on-One Promotional Development Consultations for Visual Artists

A Promotional Development consultation for visual artists is a two-hour, in-depth evaluation of an artist’s promotional platform and presentation materials, with the goal of providing a blueprint of actionable recommendations designed to enhance and elevate the artist’s profile. Prior to the one-on-one consultation, all tactics and print/online presentation materials, if available, are reviewed to determine their effectiveness and value in achieving long-term goals. Vehicles to augment efforts will be suggested with an eye toward creating a full-service promotional plan. For those just beginning to establish their “brand,” artists will gain insights into strategies, initiatives and vehicles to jumpstart their efforts.

Some of the areas covered during the consultation include: foundation promotional materials, no and low-cost tactics, lead times, approaching the media, print and online vehicles and prioritizing campaign efforts. Opportunities are explored for artists at every level of achievement. Prior to the conclusion of the consultation, higher level services offered by Katharine T. Carter & Associates will be discussed. All questions regarding fee structures for Company services will be addressed at this time.

During the consultation, extensive and valuable resource materials tailored to the artist’s needs is presented.  A tape recorder, and active note-taking, is recommended for the duration of the consultation; the session will be information intensive.

STANDARD CONSULTATION - NEW YORK CITY: Consultations take place at a mutually agreed upon New York City location.    FEE:  $500*  Telephone consultation is available for out-of-town clients.

IN-STUDIO CONSULTATION: Available upon request. Additional fees are charged for travel time and travel expenses.

SCHEDULING AND CANCELLATION POLICY: A $150 non-refundable deposit is required to finalize a consultation date and time with balance due at consultation. Consultation date and times are not confirmed until the deposit check is received.  Support materials, if available, must be received in the offices 14 days prior to consultation, or the time will be released to another artist. As already stated in company materials, deposit checks are fully refundable if an appointment date and time has not been confirmed in writing by email and on invoice. Conversely, consultation date and time is not confirmed until we have the deposit check—no exceptions. If artist’s support materials are not received in our office at least 14 days prior to consultation, appointment time will be released to another artist and the deposit forfeited. No shows will be charged the full amount of the consultation.
