Exhibition Placement Services for Individual Artists Standard 18-Month Program

Katharine T. Carter & Associates (“KTC & ASSOCIATES”) offers a plan to clients who wish to secure exhibitions nationally in not-for-profit sectors, or to orchestrate a traveling exhibition. Placement services are offered to clients who wish to secure exhibition placements nationally. Contract term is for 18-months; if mutually agreed upon by KTC&ASSOCIATES and the ARTIST, the contract period may be extended for an additional 18-months.

Preliminary requirements not included in the annual administrative services fees are an initial consultation, and the production of a 4 or 6 page promotional catalogue.   Minimum number of promotional catalogues to be produced is 3500.  THE ARTIST must provide (20) twenty properly labeled, collated sets of slides and CDs, price list and shipping estimates to KTC & ASSOCIATES.  Further, THE ARTIST  must provide KTC & ASSOCIATES with an annually updated resume.

All Company exhibitions are rental-free and are accompanied by: 200 complimentary catalogues with essays by leading art critics, 1000 color announcement cards and pre-written press materials.  Complimentary catalogues are provided to the exhibiting host institution by THE ARTIST; the cost to print color announcement cards and supervision of production with hosting institution are provided by KTC & ASSOCIATES.  THE ARTIST receives 200 color announcement cards from the hosting institution for each scheduled one-person exhibition.

Included in the contract fee:

1) Museum and not-for-profit research primarily at venue levels appropriate to the artist’s work and prior accomplishments, preparation and assembly of all materials for the promotional package,  implementation and follow-up of no less than 300 appropriate not-for-profit contacts nationwide. Promotional packages contain catalogues and written support materials, and are designed to create maximum impact.

2) Written services provided by Associate critics include biographical summary, artist statement, petite essay, press release/media release/pitch letters, radio and television spots/PSAs.  Additional written and visual support materials on the artist are provided in follow-up when requested by an institution. Cover letters and exhibition fact sheet are provided by KTC & ASSOCIATES.

3)  Inclusion on the KTC & ASSOCIATES  web site.

The contract  guarantees a minimum of three one-person venue placements with no limit to the number of venues secured during the contract term unless specified by the artist in writing.  KTC & ASSOCIATES reserves the right to obtain placement fees from THE ARTIST for all exhibitions scheduled at institutions resulting from initial contact by KTC & ASSOCIATES, for a period of three years beyond the contract term.
